Travel safe in Alta

It is important to us that you feel safe during your stay in Alta. All our suppliers follow local and national corona restrictions.

Please note that updates to travel advice and guidelines, both nationally and locally, may occur at short notice. This also applies to any local outbreaks. Travelers must therefore stay up to date and take into account local conditions while traveling in Norway.

All travelers have a responsibility to help limit the spread of infection.

  • If you are feeling ill, you should stay at home or in isolation.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, or use hand sanitizer.
  • Wear a face mask where required.
  • Keep your distance and respect local rules.

Current local restrictions in Alta municipality

  • All adults are encouraged to reduce their close contacts
  • Have contact with fewer people in your free time, and rather meet the same people more often
  • Keep distance from others in public places
  • Wear a face mask indoors where it is difficult to keep your distance
  • Please follow national guidelines and rules

  • You should only call the emergency room 116 117 when you need emergency health care.
  • In case of danger to life and health, call 113.

Entry to Norway

All travelers over the age of 16 are required to register upon arrival in Norway.

Persons over the age of 18, who cannot present a corona certificate with a QR code that can be verified by the Norwegian authorities as proof that they have either been fully vaccinated, or have had covid-19 in the last 6 months, must be tested before leaving for Norway .

Persons arriving in Norway must test for SARS-CoV-2 at the border crossing point in Norway, regardless of vaccination status. The test must be an antigen quick test and the traveler must wait for a response at the test station.
